The Department of Statistical Science at Duke University will host a virtual information session for our Master’s and Ph.D. programs on Friday, November 19th from 2-3:30pm ET. This session is open to all who are potentially interested in applying to one of our graduate programs.

The Master's in Statistical Science (MSS) is a 2-year graduate degree program that provides a modern, comprehensive education in statistical theory, methods, and computation. The MSS program offers generalized focus areas (including data science, finance & economics, health data science, and others) that prepare students for careers in industry, business, and government, as well as build a strong foundation for students who are interested in applying to Ph.D. programs. Students gain applied statistics experience through internships, capstone projects, and case studies courses.

Our Ph.D. program is the world's leading graduate research and educational environment for Bayesian statistics. Students are immersed in a broad range of concepts and research experiences, including big data analytics, machine learning, and computational statistics. Rigorous coursework and research opportunities prepare our Ph.D. students for successful careers in diverse fields, from academia to government research to private industry.
